Located high in the hills above Kata Beach in Phuket, Santosa Detox and Wellness Center is the island’s premier detox and wellness destination. Our main goal at Santosa is to encourage others to live a healthy life. All of us at Santosa Detox and Wellness Center feel strongly about health and wellness in all aspects of life, and believe that the foundations to living a healthy life should be laid during childhood.
For this reason, Santosa Detox and Wellness Center is once again proud to announce our annual ‘Santosa Kids Day’ which will allow children from the local Burmese community to come and spend a fun-filled day with us. On the day of the Santosa Kids Day, local Burmese children will be given the opportunity to experience a healthy lifestyle by participating in a variety of activities including Zumba for kids, Yoga for kids, animation group games, presents for the children and so much more. The children will also be treated to healthy vegan food courtesy of our on-site vegan restaurant. The entire day has been designed around promoting health and wellness, and it is sure to be a treat for the Burmese children.
The Santosa Kids Day is a collaboration between Santosa Detox and Wellness Center and the Good Shepherd Phuket. A local organization headed by a group of Sisters and volunteers, the Good Shepherd Phuket works closely with Burmese migrant populations and offers social services to those most in need. They work in direct service with children, women, families and victims of human trafficking to offer support and improve dignity and self-sufficiency.
The Burmese children attending the Santosa Kids Day are members of the Good Shepherd Phuket project known as the BanYa Literacy Centre. The literacy centre provides an education to local Burmese children complimentary to what they would receive in Myanmar with the hope that they will feel empowered and return to their home country as a productive member of society.
Good Shepherd Phuket does so much for the local Burmese community, and we are thankful for this opportunity to provide the children a healthy kids day. More about the Sisters and their work can be found here
The Santosa Kids Day would not be possible without the ongoing support of the Phuket Grumpy Old Men’s Society. The Phuket GOM Society is a group of like-minded expats on the island who host a variety of events throughout the year to raise money for charity. Always a pleasure to be paired with such a great group of guys. If you are interested to learn more about Phuket Grumpy Old Men’s Society, visit their website
Over the last month at Santosa Detox and Wellness Center, we have hosted Tim Stoneman. Tim has facilitated hypnotherapy sessions on a donation basis. The donation money collected from the hypnotherapy sessions will go towards all of the activities on the day of the Santosa Kids Day.
