The meditation consists of four, separate stages, practiced to a vibrant & energetic soundtrack.
The first phase, ‘the shaking,’ proves to be very grounding and energizing. Just imagine rooting your feet into the Earth, absorbing its energy, whilst shaking off any stagnant emotions, releasing stress and deeply-rooted trauma that might be buried within the body and the subconscious. Experience the freedom of movement, the freedom of your being. The shaking phase wakes the body up, recharging one’s being with energy, heat, and oxygen.
The second stage, ‘the dancing,’ allows one to experience the delight of being in one’s body. It is very liberating, de-stressing, and ecstatic. While dancing, the muscles of the body relax, energy is allowed to flow throughout the body without any obstacles, and one is imbued with a high dose of endorphins. Yes, endorphins, the natural pain-killers that elevate our mood, make us relaxed, and fill us full of vitality.
At the end of the second stage of the meditation, one has rid oneself of any physical, mental, and emotional ‘blocks’ and has elevated one’s vibration, preparing oneself for the third stage, ‘the sit- down.’
How still can one be, when there is turmoil in the head? During the third stage, the practitioner is encouraged to be still, sit, and observe the thoughts passing through their heads. During this phase, one is given the opportunity to experience various thoughts and emotions without attachment. These fifteen minutes give one a chance to be mindful, a quality that helps one to be more conscious, present, and grounded, not only on the mat, but in life.
The final phase of the meditation is ‘total relaxation.’ During the final fifteen minutes of the practice, one allows the body, mind, and spirit to let go and REST. During this stage, one lays their body down in Savasana, surrendering oneself to the gravitational force and feeling the warm, grounding embrace of the Earth underneath. At the same time, one is encouraged to let go completely, to go deeper within as the feeling of infinite space within and all around one increases – and the feeling of harmony with the universe, nature, and oneself takes over and one notices the constant, invisible connection to everything.
