Osho Meditation is a perfect alternative for those of us who are beginners at the art of meditation or who might find ourselves too restless to ‘sit down and just be.’ These are the people for whom we strongly recommend Osho Meditation at Santosa Wellness Center.
Surrender yourself to the joyous excitement that flows from within and experience the feeling of oneness with the universe, nature, and YOURSELF.
The meditation consists of four, separate stages, practiced to a vibrant & energetic soundtrack.
The first phase, ‘the shaking,’ proves to be very grounding and energizing. Just imagine rooting your feet into the Earth, absorbing its energy, whilst shaking off any stagnant emotions, releasing stress and deeply-rooted trauma that might be buried within the body and the subconscious. Experience the freedom of movement, the freedom of your being. The shaking phase wakes the body up, recharging one’s being with energy, heat, and oxygen.
The second stage, ‘the dancing,’ allows one to experience the delight of being in one’s body. It is very liberating, de-stressing, and ecstatic. While dancing, the muscles of the body relax, energy is allowed to flow throughout the body without any obstacles, and one is imbued with a high dose of endorphins. Yes, endorphins, the natural pain-killers that elevate our mood, make us relaxed, and fill us full of vitality.
At the end of the second stage of the meditation, one has rid oneself of any physical, mental, and emotional ‘blocks’ and has elevated one’s vibration, preparing oneself for the third stage, ‘the sit- down.’
How still can one be, when there is turmoil in the head? During the third stage, the practitioner is encouraged to be still, sit, and observe the thoughts passing through their heads. During this phase, one is given the opportunity to experience various thoughts and emotions without attachment. These fifteen minutes give one a chance to be mindful, a quality that helps one to be more conscious, present, and grounded, not only on the mat, but in life.
The final phase of the meditation is ‘total relaxation.’ During the final fifteen minutes of the practice, one allows the body, mind, and spirit to let go and REST. During this stage, one lays their body down in Savasana, surrendering oneself to the gravitational force and feeling the warm, grounding embrace of the Earth underneath. At the same time, one is encouraged to let go completely, to go deeper within as the feeling of infinite space within and all around one increases – and the feeling of harmony with the universe, nature, and oneself takes over and one notices the constant, invisible connection to everything. Interested?
Yes, you read that right. This blissful, relaxed, and balanced state-of-being is just a reach away.

“Practicing regular, mindful breathing can be calming and energizing and can even help with stress-related health problems ranging from panic attacks to digestive disorders.” Andrew Weil, M.D.
Do you feel there is a power outside of you that directs your life?
Do you seem never to be able to complete things?
Do you find it difficult to surrender to love?
Do you feel vulnerable under certain circumstances?
Are you addicted in any way?
Is the feeling of responsibility sometimes overwhelming?
Do you expect others to help you solve your issues, or “rescue” you?
Breathwork is one of the oldest methods for transformation and physical well-being, creating deeper harmony, spiritual connection and joy. The simple process of breathing, fully and deeply, empowers us out of feeling as a “victim”.
When we consciously breathe we release the emotional and negative charge out of our cell memory and the primary result is an experience of clarity at all level.
By learning how to use breathing as a transformational tool, we learn how to free ourselves at every level and a regular practice will energize us, empowering us to use our potential for joy, aliveness, vitality, spiritual awareness and peace.
Join us at Santosa Wellness and Detox center, for Breathing Class every Wednesday, from 11:00 to 12:00, with Susanna Eduini, Certified Breathwork Practitioner.

Cortisol – what really happens to your body when you are under STRESS!?
Let us break this complicated topic down for you into a few simple steps.
First we will look at the physiological effects of stress and cortisol on the body. Secondly we will look at how that affects us daily and thirdly we will check out what to do against the damaging effects of stress….
Cortisol is a stress hormone that is very important to the body and our survival. What happens when we are under threat (real or perceived) the body will produce Cortisol and Adrenaline to prepare the body for action. When Cortisol is flooding the body it breaks down proteins and converts them to glucose aka sugars in the blood stream. It does this so enough energy is available to the muscles to react quickly to any given situation. So your blood sugar rises and your body is ready for action.
But ….What if there’s no “action” the way our body is anticipating it?
When this happens all the sugar in our bloodstream now gets converted to fat and stored – mostly around the midsection.
There’s that wonderful muffin top for you….
So how do we stop this vicious cycle of getting stressed over our everyday business? Well for one – don’t take everything so seriously. When we worry about our mortgage, stress about traffic and business deadlines or get otherwise upset, the body actually reacts the same way as if we were being subjected to a physical threat.
So calm down – the first step is to notice when you feel stressed, step away from it and take a few conscious deep breaths. Meditation is an amazing tool in combating stress. Also Exercise is a winner – remember all that sugar waiting to be used up by the muscles as energy? Well why not just let them do what they are supposed to do! You don’t have to go to Boot camp – Even a brisk walk around the block really helps when you’re stressed.
Detox is also a great way to create space. Once in a while it is good to detach from the ordinary, get away to a tropical island and take some time for yourself… Santosa Phuket will always be waiting for you with open arms when you need some downtime…
Tension & Trauma Release Exercises aka TRE, is a breakthrough self-help tool for stress management and trauma recovery developed by Dr. David Berceli, PhD. This is a new way to detox your body.
It is a body focused process, that releases deep chronic physical and emotional tension created during traumatic and stressful events. It’s a simple set of exercises performed to initiate the body’s innate natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating to release stress, tension and trauma. When this muscular shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance and a calm nervous system.
TRE® is based on the fundamental idea, backed by recent research, that stress, tension and trauma is both psychological and physical. When we experience a situation in which we feel threatened, our nervous system releases a huge amount of energy to set up the body for survival. In these fight/flight situations our reptilian part of the brain kicks in to shut off other functions of the body, not important to immediate survival, like digestion and immune function. This energy and the accompanying contraction of the muscles are vital functions, once the threat is over the body has the ability to discharge this energy through literally shaking it off and carrying on living stress & tension free.
This would make life stress and trauma free – wouldn’t that be nice!?
Unfortunately we also have the ego mind/ neo-cortex that can get in our way and prevent us from going through the natural cycle of a stressful event. As we all know we have been taught to be strong, not show fear, be calm and composed at all times – so when we shake we think we are showing something we shouldn’t, even though it’s just the body releasing the stress.
The body doesn’t distinguish between “real” threat or “just perceived” threat.
Meaning we can have up to 50 fight/ flight reactions a day from real threats or just something we perceive as stressful like a traffic jam or an angry boss.
Animals do it in the wild and we have the capacity to bring our bodies, mind and nervous systems back into balance in the same way as nature intended.
Our mind might not be aware but our nervous system is always on the watch for us and our survival, at all times.
This is where TRE comes in – as mentioned in the beginning these exercises initiate this shaking response in the body to let go of this pent up energy and deeply held tension and stress patterns from the muscles to get the nervous system back to baseline.
Things you can experience when practicing TRE are plenty but here just some examples
Less Worry & Anxiety
Reduces Symptoms of PTSD
More Energy & Endurance
Improved Marital Relationships
Less Workplace Stress
Less Relationship Conflict
Reduced Muscle & Back Pain
Greater Emotional Resiliency
Decreases Symptoms of Vicarious Trauma
Healing of Old Injuries
Lessened Anxiety surrounding Serious Illness
Relief from Chronic Medical Conditions
It is important to do these exercises with a TRE Provider for at least the first 3 sessions in order to learn the exercises correctly and also how to self-regulate in order not to stress the system even more, which can happen if you don’t know what to watch out for.
Currently the first private session is FREE at Santosa, and the following two private sessions are at a heavily discounted price until April 24th.
We will also be running group classes in the future but the prerequisite to join the class is to do one private session before joining a class.
Come and see for yourself what all this shaking is about contact Sandra@santosaphuket.com to book your first private session.
