The best time to practice gratitude is when there are obstacles in our way. In difficult moments, it is often hard to see positive forces as fears are looming. However, this is a good time to be grateful. Not for the things that have us stuck, but for the fact that we can appreciate what does not. 

Gratitude can help us see the negative situations in a way that can lessen the bad feelings and panic, and open up our thinking to new solutions and ideas. More times than not, this is when we realize that gratitude requires practice. We have to recognize what we are grateful for, acknowledge it and appreciate it. Truthfully, this is not always as easy at it may seem.

The benefits of practicing gratitude can have an amazing effect on our lives, and often times, learning to be grateful is life-altering. Instead of focusing only on the negative, focus on the positive. Gratitude puts situations into perspective and helps us both the good and the bad which makes it easier to come to a decision. Gratitude also makes us feel thankful for what we have. The awareness of the things we are grateful for can lessen the desire to always want something bigger, better or more. Overall, gratitude makes us happier. It strengthens relationships, reduces stress, and also improves health.

Feeling grateful boosts well-being behaviors. When we feel good, we give our very best to others. Practicing gratitude improves self-care and encourages better physical health and psychological health.

Gratitude gives us happiness that lasts. It leads to sustainable forms of happiness and self-care. As gratitude is not based in instant gratifications, it is possible to say that if we regularly take time to practice thankfulness and express gratitude, we are likely to see results.

Songkran is a super fun event on the annual calendar in Thailand. Known as the Thai New Year, Songkran is deep-rooted in tradition and culture. The festival lasts for three days, but it truly is a mass celebration across Thailand. This year, Songkran takes places from the 13th to 15th of April and is sure to be a wonderful time.

Songkran has to be seen to be believed. Not only is it a traditional Thai festival, it’s also the largest water festival in the country. As April is the hottest month, the water feels cool and refreshing. Kata Beach is Santosa’s local beach and is sure to have many fun activities during the Songkran Festival such as a mass water fight, music and traditional ceremonies. 

As Songkran signifies the Thai New Year and a new year often means a new start, perhaps this Thai festival can also be the perfect time to reevaluate your health or put new passion into the fitness goals you started at the beginning of 2018. The Benefits of TRX Training

TRX, Total Resistance Exercise, is an intense total body workout. It is a specialized form of suspension training that build muscle while combining both cardio and strength training. TRX is a popular class at Santosa held on Fridays from 10:00-11:00am.

Originally developed to train the elite Navy SEAL teams, TRX is a challenging workout that is effective and results driven. The concept behind TRX is quite simple. Participants suspend their body from a pair of cables on their hands or feet using both body weight and gravity as resistance to build up strength. How one chooses to position their body on the cables affects the targeted muscle groups and intensity of the workout.

 

What are the benefits of TRX?

One of the biggest benefits of TRX, in addition to its versatility, is that it truly works for everyone. TRX has great appeal and people from all walks of life have taken up the fitness class as many find it challenging and fun.

TRX will bring about a lot of benefits to the body. The exercise uses body weight and gravity as resistance to build up strength, lose fat and improve endurance and flexibility. TRX can really help participants achieve fitness goals.

During TRX, the body weight is leveraged to perform a variety of exercises that work the whole body but which also focus on your core. If your core is in tip top shape, it means you have abs or a six pack. If you wish to feel better, look better and move with ease, there is no better place to start than with the core. The functional movements used in TRX will increase overall core fitness.

Another outstanding benefit of TRX is that is also ensures you get your cardio in. TRX works out different parts of the body while getting the heart pumping. When using the suspension cables, so many various parts of the body are worked that the body’s requirement for oxygen will increase. When the need for oxygen is increased, the heart and lungs start working overtime to ensure that all of this oxygen gets to the muscles. If you take all of this into consideration, TRX is also a great cardio workout.

TRX workouts are often shorter workouts. For example, if you are used to working out daily for two hours, chances are you can complete a much more rigorous TRX workout in just an hour. TRX’s unique combination of resistance training, core strength, cardio, muscular balance and mobility means that you will get more done in less time. TRX is taught by professional trainers who show all participants the proper techniques and routines.
